Castle Beams
Castle Beams
Castle Beams is a luxurious Grade II Listed converted barn retaining the historic elements of the original building, which dates from the 17th century, with a comfortable, high-spec and modern interior. The property is in the curtilage of a picture-postcard cottage, The Old Granary, where the owners live, but is completely separate and very private. Castle Beams gets its name from the two identical large oak beams within the property which are of "high status" and are thought to have probably been "upcycled" from the ruined castle in the field opposite when it was destroyed in 1644 during the English Civil War !
The accommodation, which is all on one level, is very spacious with 2 large double bedrooms with king size beds, each of which has a beautiful en suite bathroom with both a bath and a walk-in shower. The living area is open plan and comprises a lounge area, a dining section, breakfast island and fully-fitted superbly equipped kitchen which has everything.
The temperature is controlled throughout the accommodation by underfloor heating, which provides the perfect ambient temperature at all times, although there is also a modern flame-effect fire for the coldest of winter nights. There are blinds on all the doors and windows for privacy.
Ample secure private parking is available in front of the barn and a lockable bike shed is provided for those who bring their own bikes.
The property is in the pretty hamlet of Hopton Castle, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there is a large relatively secluded garden with a raised patio area looking out over the Hopton Titterhill with views of the ruined castle and the amazing South Shropshire countryside.
The Lounge area contains two 2-seat sofas with a coffee table and rugs. A standard lamp, a pendant light and multiple spotlights on the beams provide plenty of options for flexible mood lighting. There is also an attractive flame-effect fire which can be used just for effect if no heat is required.
Excellent WiFi, with speeds of upto 300Mb, is provided and with a big 57-inch SMART TV, complete with an Amazon Firestick, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube etc. as well as all the usual channels, a comprehensive entertainment package is available.

The Bathrooms are of the highest quality with full-sized baths, spacious walk-in showers, a mood-lighting mirror and heated towel rail. The underfloor heating ensures a pleasurable experience both in the morning and at night.
